Hailing from Ballina, Co. Mayo, Shane Mulcrone is one of the finest banjo players in Irish music. He started learning music at an early age from Peter Neary, a popular local musician, as well as legendary players John Carty and Tommy Finn. In 2018, Shane released his critically acclaimed debut album Solid Ground on Raelach Records. With a strong affinity for the music of Mayo and Sligo, he’s taught and performed for many years at numerous summer schools, workshops, and festivals, across Europe and North America. With over 25 years of experience, Shane is one of the most in-demand performers and teachers of Irish music.
